Misleading Rebate Offer - Allegiant Air and Travelers Advantage


The price started off really great then they started offering all these add on amenities such as a carry on that says from $10 to $30.00 but it defaults to $30.00 so don't even think you are going to get the $10.00 deal. Then they wanted me to pre-select my seat and if not, they were going to give me the last seat available. Its funny, when I signed up for the flight, it said only 3 seats were available both ways, so I hurried and purchased them only to find that about 50 seats were not pre-selected. I guess everyone will get the last seat available. After I purchased my flight, a larger than life $50 rebate popped, indicating I qualified for a limited time offer due to the reservation I just made. They said I would receive it as soon as I call 1866 4087169, so I did. They began by saying the deal was better than I thought and offered me a $100 rebate for trying Traveler Advantage for only $16 a month, so I agreed. After giving them all of my information, they had the nerve to say, "sorry you don't qualify because you live in Iowa". WTH! My flight info has my address on it, what were they thinking? Why did they even offer this to me and say I qualified without first asking me what state I was from. After I spoke to a supervisor at Travelers Advantage, he said he wasn't sure why they told me that because they do offer it to Iowan's but not Idaho..I was so happy to see the rebate...but then they killed that happiness really quick! Their marketing strategy sucks, and needs work! Although the rebate had Allegiance and Travelers Advantage all over it, the Travelers Advantage supervisor claimed it wasn't one of his reps. Apparently they have other companies doing their marketing for them. He said I should call Allegiance and complain, wow!

I just got an envelope expect it to contain my $50 rebate. Instead it said "we are unable to process your bonus because an incorrect receipt was sent with my coupon. They never said what was wrong with my receipt or how to correct the issue. Maybe they were unhappy that I cancelled this worthless "Travel Advantage" two weeks into it. They want $16 a month for a dubious travel service. I've been on hold now for ten minutes with their 800 number. I know I'm wasting my time. Allegiant should cut ties with this company.
